Fay Johnson Hampton, 85, widow of Manuel Franklin Hampton, Sr. passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010, at her home in Nicholasville. She was born July 20, 1924, in Richmond, Kentucky, to the late Morgan B. and Bertha Quillen Johnson. Fay was a retired postmaster from her beloved McRoberts, KY, and a member of the East End Church of Christ in Lexington. She is survived by her son, Frank Hampton and his wife Barbara from Jenkins, KY, a daughter, Paula Adams and her husband Joe of Lexington, three grandchildren, Allen Adams and his wife Karen, Matthew Hampton and his wife Holly and Rebecca Pettinato and her husband Tony, one great granddaughter, Faith Victoria Adams, two sisters, Carrie Bentley and Rhudell Spears of Winchester, KY, a brother, Morgan B. Johnson, Jr. from Ocala, FLA, and several nieces and nephews to mourn her passing. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Bertha Ann Hampton and a sister, Mae Spears. Services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Deason officiating. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be today from 5:00 until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
