She was born in Lexington, Kentucky on August 4, 1983 to Billy Joe May and the late Barbara Lisa Shields May. Survivors include daughters, Amaya Olivia Arguello Shields and Milanya Yale Arguello Shields and a brother, Joseph (Margaret) Michael Shields.
