Adrianna Violet Colbath passed away on April 12, 2025, due to heart complications. Born in Hapeville, GA, in 1944, to Adrian and Violet Colbath, Adrianna was a beloved daughter and aunt, and a pioneering woman in the field of computer coding. Adrianna was a true friend to many, always encouraging others to laugh and not take life too seriously.
After completing her master's degree at North Georgia University, Adrianna began her career in the aviation industry, first at Delta Airlines before moving to SITA, where she worked for over 40 years. She was a pioneering figure for women in aviation, earning global recognition and respect from airline customers and industry leaders alike. Her most significant contribution was her practical expertise, which she generously shared within key standards organizations, helping to establish vital rules and regulations for airline communications and practices worldwide. Her unwavering commitment to helping those in need and serving the Lord were evident in every aspect of her life.
Adrianna was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother Don Colbath, her sister Emily Fitch, her nephew Adrian Dru, and her grand-nephew John Cullen. She is survived by her brother-in-law, James Leonard Fitch, and sister-in-law Norma Colbath, nieces and nephews: Cheryl Drake (Carey), Mark Colbath(Suzanne) Christopher James Fitch (Kelly), James Fitch Jr. (Michelle), Stephanie Fitch, Donna Nelson (husband Mitch), Kerri Ransom (Don). She is also survived by her great-nieces and great-nephews: Susanna Boggs, Sara Ransom Britnell (Morgan) Kat Colbath, Lindsay Donnelly(Ian), Jordan Drake, Tyler Drake, Amelia Fitch, Anna Fitch, Asher Fitch, Audrey Fitch, Chandler Fitch, Elizabeth Fitch, Gentry Fitch, Emma Harrison (Davis), Graham Hoffar (Kaitlin), Hunter Nelson (Leslie), Morgan Nelson, Calvin Ransom (Mindy), Katherine S Alicia Tyner (Thomas), and many great-great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on April 23rd, Wednesday from 12-1pm, followed by a service at 1pm at Betts and West Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Wounded Soldier Foundation, Samaritan’s Purse, Convey of Hope, BCTC Foundation, Kentucky Theatre Friends of Kentucky, in her memory.
