Alice "Mickey" Mae Borders

Alice “Mickey” Mae Davis Borders, 75, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born in Nicholasville, Kentucky on November 26, 1949, to the late Earl Clinton Davis and Martha Dee Burke Davis. Mickey started working at age 15 and was a career waitress. She proudly served customers for over 40 years, her last employment being at Huddle House in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky in 2011 before retiring. She loved working with the public and took pride in getting up at 4:00 AM every morning to begin her day. Always with a smile and a quick-witted joke, she charmed everyone she met. She lived for 12 years in Canon City, Colorado, where she made many good friends, and loved the view of the mountains from her front door. She returned home to Kentucky to be close to her family.

Alice is survived by her 8 children: James Delbert Borders (Jennifer); Scott Wayne Borders (Jessica); Melissa Hall; Sherrie Borders-Grantham; Teressa Riggs (Steven); Delbert Borders Jr.; Robert Borders (Ali); and Carrie Dee Pangia (Dave); with 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Darlene Fogle, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her siblings: David L. Davis; Shirly J. Davis; and Paul T. Davis; and a nephew, Donald Butcher Jr.

Services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, February 21st at Betts & West Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Pall Bearers are James Delbert Borders, Delbert Borders Jr., Robert Borders, Steven Riggs, Nicholas Borders, and Jacob Borders.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 20th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
