Alice Rainwater Walker, 84, widow of Roy Walker, died March 6, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Alice formerly worked for Dr. Phyllis Corbitt and Dr. Dale Dunkelberger for over 30 years and was a Jessamine Co. Deputy Sheriff for over 10 years. She was the daughter of the late Welcome Joseph Rainwater and Viola Iverson Hodge Rainwater. Survivors include her son and his wife, Joe and Lori Walker, four grandchildren, Andrea, Jacob, Matthew and Joseph (Katie) Walker, two sisters, Faye Hogue and Susie (David) Hall, a daughter in law, Lindsay Pope Walker, numerous other family members. She was preceded in death by a son, Steve Walker, a sister, Vina Jane Gullette, an infant sister, Merley Mae Rainwater, brothers, Ed, Everette and Ezra Rainwater. Services will be 1:00pm Thursday at Nicholasville United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-8pm Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Bearers will be Jacob, Joseph, Matthew and Joe Walker, Kevin Corman and Doodle Peel. The family would like to offer a special thank you to all the people who have given her loving care.
