Alice Reynolds Brock

May 11, 1933 — June 7, 2012

Nicholasville-Alice Reynolds Brock, 79, widow of Ray Brock, of Circle Drive, died June 7, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Edward and May Whitaker Reynolds. Alice received her Master-s Degree in Education, her Bachelors Degree and Rank in Principal ship, taught in the Jessamine Co. Schools for 44 years from 1953-1997. She served as past president of the Jessamine Co. Education Association, was a member and past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Nicholasville #223, was a lifetime member of the East Hickman Baptist Church where she served as treasurer and taught Sunday school for over 45 years. Survivors include brothers, Henry and Charlie Reynolds, sisters, Cathleen Burton and Evelyn Holloway as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Ray, Elmer, Lester and Lindsay Reynolds and sisters Ruth Gillispie, Anna Mae Cheek and Vanessa Cheek. Services will be 1:00pm Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Wilkins officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 4-8pm Saturday and from 2-6pm Sunday. There will be an Eastern Star service at 7:00pm Saturday. Bearers will be Sam Gordon, Rodney and Bradley Burton, Steve Reynolds and Doug Cheek. Honorary bearers will be the Deacon of East Hickman Baptist Church.
