Nicholasville-Arby Gale Johns, 71, husband of fifty two years to Jane Ethington Johns, of Hoover Pike, died January 5, 2011. He was retired from IBM and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Edward and Mable English Johns. Additional survivors include twin sons, Donald Johns of Nicholasville and Ronald (Leslie) Johns of MD, three grandchildren, Bradley Johns, John Moore and Suzanne (Steve) Watts, three great grandchildren, Travis Meador, John Jr. and Carly Moore, a sister Joretta (David) Grow, two brothers, Kenneth (Minnie) Johns and Sunny (Betty) Johns and a sisters in law, Alice Johns, Mary Kaye (Joe) Moore, Betty (Don) Adams and Irene Moss, all of Nicholasville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Verdenia Johnson and a brother, Billy Clay Johns. Services will be 1:00pm Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Brother Dewayne Brewer and Brother Basil Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-5pm Sunday. Bearers will be Stan Adams, Tommie Burton, Scott Johns, Jeff Johns, Hunter Johns, Gerald Cobb, Patrick and Scott Moore, Dale Adams and Cecil Moss. Honorary bearers will be all of his senior golfing buddies, Dr. Michael Carr and member of Marion Williams Sunday School class at Mt. Pleasant.
