Aubrey Howard Burdine, 84, husband of Wanda Carol Roberts Burdine of Nicholasville, died Friday, April 1, 2011. He was born February 9, 1927 in Sedgwick, Kansas to the late John J. and Blanche May Stapp Burdine. He was retired from Fansteel, Inc. after thirty five plus years of service, a WWII Air Force Veteran and member of the V.F.W.. Aubrey also enjoyed golf and was an avid reader. Other survivors are his children, Anita (Anthony) Day, Harold David (Teresa) Burdine, James Douglas 'Jimmy' Burdine, all of Nicholasville,one brother, Clifford(Audrey)Burdine of Kansas. Additional survivors include, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three step grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one son, John Frederick 'Freddie' Burdine, four brothers, Johnnie, Keith, Lamar and LaVern Burdine, and one sister, Olive Burdine Johnson. Services will be 1:30 pm Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Sholar officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11:30 until time of service at the funeral home. Bearers will be Harold, Jimmy, Kenny, Jerry and James Burdine, Anthony and Luke Day and Kevin Corman.
