Bernard -Bob- Per Swanson, 90, husband of Cleona Winkler Swanson for fifty two years, died Saturday, November 15, 2008. Bob was born May 28, 1918 in Kenosha, WI to the late Oscar Frederick and Esther Person Swanson. He was a Boy Scout, member of Gideons International, Porter Memorial Baptist Church, WWII Army Air Corp. and Marine Veteran, serving from 1938 until 1946, receiving numerous awards, a self employed Aeronautical Engineer. He loved baseball, airplanes, politics and had served in many capacities in his church life. Survivors are two children, Marsha (Dan) Schlesinger-Nicholasville, Clark (Sandra) Swanson-UT, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, two sisters, Elizabeth Firant and Linnea Powers-MI, a brother, Dr. Alfred (Jenevieve) Swanson-MI and other family members. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Carl Thompson. Memorial services will be 2:30 Friday, November 21, 2008 in Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, KY with Rev.
