Bernice Dean Dearing Tinsley

May 24, 1922 — April 19, 2012

Bernice Dean Dearing Tinsley, 89, widow of Rev. Curtis Dearing and Rev. Ed Tinsley, died Thursday, April 19, 2012. She was a nurse, member of the Wilmore Free Methodist Church, and a KY Colonel. Bernice loved to cook, sew and garden. She was the daughter of the late John Gale and Lillian Leise Dean. Survivors include two children, Joanna Dearing (Jim) Lucas-PA and Nathan (Rose) Dearing, six step children, Naomi Dearing (Douglas Clark-IN, Samuel (Lillian) Tinsley-LA, William Tinsley-Wilmore, Delores (Gerald) Wright-IN, Donna (Don) Weidman-PA and Rachel (Sam) Powdrill-Wilmore, twenty grandchildren, several great grandchildren, brothers, John, Fred, Howard, Randall, Alvin and Charles Dean, sisters, Freida Jones and Alice Schuller and other family members. She was preceded in death by a step son, Ervin Dearing, two brothers, Norman and Ken Dean and a sister Elsie Campbell. Services will be 11:00am Monday, April 30, 2012 at Wilmore Free Methodist Church with Pastor Dwight Winter officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilmore Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11am Monday at the church. Bearers will be Brian Dearing, Sam and Ian Powdrill, Bryan Sallee, Jeremy Lucas and Brandon Tinsley. Honorary bearers will be Joel and Jim Lucas, Nathan Dearing and Sam and William Tinsley. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 5-8pm at 525 East Margaret Street, Wilmore, KY 40390.
