Bessie East Hurt

Bessie East Hurt, 89, widow of Milford Ed Hurt, died Monday. She was a member of Nicholasville Baptist Church and a retiree of Central Baptist Hospital. Survivors are a daughter, Wilda (Alan) Grant, a granddaughter, Lena (Dean) Thornton, a sister, Lorene Chumley and many cherished family members. Services will be 1:30 pm Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Bearers will be Brad Reeves, Charles Teater, Jeff Stotts, Harold Smith, Dean Thornton and Jeremiah Phelps. Honorary bearers will be Bob East, Jared Grant and Bill Petty.
