Nicholasville-Betty Bowles Collier, 82, widow of Chester Lloyd Collier, of West Maple Street, died August 30, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a member of the Nicholasville Christian Church where she was also a member of the Womens Circle and a retired seamstress with the University of Kentucky . Betty loved to garden, paint, collect bears, angels and Star Wars, quilt and read. She was the daughter of the late James Montgomery Bowles and Zetta Mae Miller Bowles. Survivors include two daughters, Dana Collier (Terry) Hager and Leverna Collier Upton, four grandchildren, Chester L. (Deseraye) Hager, Sabrina G. Hager (Michael) Vanaelstyn, Major M. (Missy) Upton III and Jennifer A. Upton, three great grandchildren, Payton Brooke Hager, Gabriel Aidan Gates and Sadie Colette Upton, two brothers, Owen Montgomery 'Buddy' Bowles and Louis Bowles, a sister, Genora Bowles. She was preceded in death by four siblings, James Bowles, Ann Bowles, Helen Bowles and Elizabeth Bowles. Services will be 10am September 1, 2012 at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Bearers will be Terry Hager, Major Upton, Michael Vanaelstyn, Ben Hitch, Carl Leslie Collier and Robert Collier. Honorary bearers will be William Lloyd Collier and the Jessamine Co.
