Betty Louise Stephens, 89, went to be with our Lord on February 12, 2019. The daughter of the late William Nicholas Long and Estell Prewitt Long. Betty was born in Garrard County, Kentucky on January 27, 1930. She was an active and faithful member of the Tutors for Christ for the building of God’s kingdom. Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Clarence (Red) Stephens; daughters, Kathy Ann Stephens, Karen Lee Barjuca (Jeff); son, James O’Neal Stephens (Teresea); four grandchildren, Jennifer Gay McCarty-Palumbo (Frank). James Andrew Willis McCarty (Kathe), William Nicholas Begley and Malvery Lee Begley; four great grandchildren, Andrew Joseph James Palumbo, James Parker McCarty, Kaitlyn Karen Ann Palumbo and Camden Von Taylor; and sister-in-law, Nancy Owen McGuire Long. Visitation will be Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Betts & West Funeral Home from 5:00-9:00 PM. Services, officiated by David Patrick, will be on 1:00 PM, Friday, February 15, 2019 at Betts & West Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, Kentucky.
