Bishop John Conrad Keyton, Jr.

Bishop John Conrad Keyton Jr., 79, husband of Margery Lou Creata Robinson, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008. He was born May 11, 1929 in Cincinnati, OH to the late John Conrad and Cordie Parrott Keyton Sr.. John was an ordained Bishop of the Church of God of Cleveland Tennessee and member of it for fifty eight years. He had been a founding member and minister of the Nicholasville Church of God for eighteen years, District overseer in Caywood for four years and eight months, helped build and pastured church at Bernard Ridge in Russell Springs, giving many revivals for young ministers and is a current member of Clays Mill Road Church of God, Lexington. Additional survivors are a daughter, Carol Owens, a son, Ricky Dale (Sharon) Keyton, four grandchildren, Erica Renee Owens, Tracy Ann Keyton, Shawn Conrad Keyton, John Conrad Keyton III, all of Nicholasville, a great grandchild, Richard Armstrong of PN and other family members. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Keyton. Services will be 11:00 am Saturday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bishop Gary Ballinger,, Rev Ronald Johns and Administrator Bishop Keith Ivestor officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Bearers will be Paul McClease, Charlie Hall, Brent Robinson, Leo Barnes, Harold Chrisman and Robert Flanery. Honorary bearers will be Bishop Glenn Daugherty, Bishop Philip Payne, Bishop Jack Croekett, Bishop James Marshall, Bishop Jack Whitaker, Bishop Richard Ussery, Earl Hisel, Lester Kidwell and Junior Barnes.
