Bonnie Burton

Bonnie Jenkins Burton passed from this life on December 21, 2021 at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Mitchell Burton. She also was predeceased by her parents, Marnix V. and Lillian Bryan Jenkins and her siblings, Eugene Jack Jenkins and Della Jenkins Evans. She is survived by two sons, David Mitchell Burton and Michael Ray Burton (Kay) and one granddaughter, Hannah ‘Courtney’ Burton, as well as many nieces and nephews including the two closest, Janice Evans Haddaway with whom she spent a great deal of time and Jackie Jenkins, who will officiate at her memorial service. Bonnie was a graduate of Lafayette High School and worked for more than 20 years in management for the General Telephone Company. Bonnie led a full and active life and loved family gatherings and trips. She was an avid bowler and a member of Porter Memorial Baptist Church. She especially loved Christmas, it is only appropriate that her home-going takes place during this season. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 29 at 1:00 pm at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens, 4915 Harrodsburg Rd, Nicholasville. Officiant, the Rev. Jackie Jenkins.
