Carlos Waldon Pritchett, 89, widower of Mary Lillian Byrd Pritchett, died Thursday, August 15, 2013. He was born February 6, 1924 in Casey County to the late Oscar and Ida Lawson Pritchett. He was retired from Standard Products where he was a machine operator. Carlos was a proud WWII Army Veteran, member and past deacon of Springdale Baptist Church, an avid fisherman and enjoyed his garden. He was a devoted family man being survived by three daughters, Gayle (Ronnie) Sexton, Carol (Bill) Grimes and Cathy (Speedy) Young, six grandchildren, Terri Perrin, Tammy Klapheke, Steve Sexton, Kelly Wise, Debbie Smith and Brook Baird, ten great grandchildren, John Perrin, Daniel and Jesse Klapheke, Nathan Wise, Ryan Baird, Kelsey Wise, Allie and Wesley Smith, Hannah Sexton and Lillie Baird, an uncle, Chester Lawson and numerous other family members. He was also preceded in death by a great grandchild, Brandon Smith, four brothers, Earl, Vincent, Homer and Bobby Pritchett, three sisters, Lillian Cooper, Margaret Marsee and Ann George. Services will be 11:00 am Saturday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Tyson Cummings officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 3:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Grandsons and Great Grandson will serve as bearers. Honorary bearers will be Arza Byrd, Lounovie Howard, Cecil Cooper, Ronnie Sexton, Bill Grimes and Speedy Young. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Thompson Hood Veterans Center.
