Carol Hamilton Russell, 94, wife of Dr. Carl Reed Russell Jr., of Keene Road, Nicholasville, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024. She was born in Lexington, Kentucky on August 9, 1929, to the late Kenneth and Clay Foley Hamilton. She worked as a veterinary nurse alongside her husband at their family veterinary practice. She was a longtime member of Bethel Christian Church. Besides spending time with their family. Carol loved to play golf and fish with her husband in their free time. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Carl Russell Jr., and two sons, Carl Reed (Talaria) Russell III, and John Kenneth (Tina B.) Russell, a daughter, Susan Russell (William Scott) Harkins, ten grandchildren, Will Harkins, Hillary (Jordan) Stapleton, Lindsey (Glendon) Lay, Nickolas Russell, Natalie (Stephen) Fuller, Justin Russell, Charlotte Russell, Nicole Russell, Brian Russell, and Jesse Russell, twelve great-grandchildren, Grayson Stapleton, Hudson Lay, Everly Lay, Kaiden Fuller, Elaina Fuller, Bennett Russell, Layla Russell, Chloe Russell, Taylor Russell, Lucas Russell, Craig Russell, Carley Russell, and Caleb Russell. She was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Peyton. Services will be at 12:00 PM, Friday, January 12, 2024, at Bethel Christian Church with Bro. David Grose officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Bearers will be Jordan Stapleton, Will Harkins, Glendon Lay, Stephen Fuller, Bill Green, Nickolas Russell and Nicole Russell. Honorary bearers will be William Scott Harkins and Pete Meyers. The visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home.
