Cecil L. Stone, 83, husband of Suedelle Salyer Stone, passed away from this world to his heavenly home on Friday, August 13, 2021, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Survivors include two sons, Mark Stone and Todd (Sandy) Stone, four grandchildren, Chad (Lindsey) Stone, Tessa Stone, Jay Stone, Bailey Moberly, five great-grandchildren, Emma Rose Stone, Gracie Johns, Luke Johns, Jayden Moberly, and Logan Moberly. Also surviving is a loving and caring sister, Juanita Adkins, who is Nee-Nee to all of us, and a special brother-in-law, Gary (Joyce) Salyer, four nieces, Karen Shaw, Robin Trimble, Dustin Robinson, and Aubrey Nare, and three nephews, Rod Phillips, Gary Clay Salyer, and Aaron Abbott. Cecil became a Christian at a later age; in fact, he accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at age 65. From then on, he made no secret of whom he depended on and served. Every statement ended with “If it’s the Lord’s will.” Several members of his Sunday School Class have passed, and each time he would say, “I thought I would be next.” He was looking forward to seeing the face of Jesus and all of his family and friends that have gone before.
Services will be 12:00 PM, Friday, August 20, 2021, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Wally Rendel and Bro. Bruce Carpenter officiating. Bearers will be Rod Phillips, Gary Clay Salyer, Tessa Stone, Chad Stone, Jay Stone, Aaron Abbott, and his dearest friend, Joe Chapman. Visitation will be 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM, Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Sayre Christian Village.
