Charles -Boss- Mitchell Blakeman, 80, husband of Margaret Jane Massingill Blakeman, of Lancaster formerly of Nicholasville, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at his home. Born in Jessamine County on March 5, 1927 he was the son of the late Mitchell and Mary Elizabeth Hager Blakeman. He was WWII veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot where he worked as a lock and key controller. He was a member of Lamberts Chapel United Methodist Church. Additonal survivors include three children, Sandy (Harry) Whitt, Dale (Mary) Blakeman and Bonnie (Richard) Herring, four grandchildren, Stacy Gullette, Melissa Hulett, Jessica Blakeman and Blake Herring, eight great-grandchildren, Kelsie Hulett, Katie Helton, Samantha Price, Zach Hulett, Maddy Hulett, Danielle Elder, Nikki Elder and Nicholas Gabbard and other family members. Services will be 10:00 AM Friday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Bearers will be Dale Blakeman, Carl Prueitt, Dallas Knight, Tommy Corman, Noah Hulett and John Easley. Honorary Bearers will be Richard Herring, Harry Whitt, J.D. Knight, Wayne Knight and Ty Colwell.
