Charles W. Jordan, 80, beloved husband of 60 years to Marie Carroll Jordan, of Hickory Hill, died July 22, 2010. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and retired after 32 years from Hobart. After his retirement he was employed by Three Chimneys Farm. Charles was an avid fisherman and golfer, having been a member of the 1949 Lafayette High School state championship team. He was the son of the late C.B. and Sylvia Donovan Jordan. He was the loving father of his two children, Charlene Clark and her husband Sam, Barry Jordan and his wife Robin, loving grandfather of Darian Garrett, Mitch (Jamie) Garrett, Aaron Jordan, Julie (B.J.) Hall, great grandchildren, Justin Garrett and Jordan Hall, a brother, Donald Jordan-FL. He was preceded in death by three sisters. Services will be 1:00pm Monday at Edgewood Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Sholar, Rev. Doug Simpson and Rev. Bobby Becknell officiating. Burial will be in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-8pm Sunday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Bearers will be Walter Bradshaw, Dan Stocker, Darian, Mitch and Justin Garrett, Aaron Jordan and B.J. Hall. Honorary bearers will be the Jim Smith Sunday School class, Bill Hobbs and Robert Rader.
