Charles Wilton Glass

Charles W. Glass, 73, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 16, 2011. He was born June 18, 1938 in Jessamine County to the late Patricia Margaret Gaston and Holman Crow Glass, Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Bette Jo (Robb) Glass, a daughter, Betsy (Ben Jr.) Glass Biddle, son, Charles (Amanda) Robb Glass, two granddaughters, Haley Elizabeth Biddle and Elizabeth Alexandria Glass, all of Lexington, sister and brother in law, Connell and Ron Wallace, Russell, two nephews, David Wallace, Ashland, Joe Wallace, Lexington, a close cousin Carole Fitzpatrick, Lancaster and several other cousins from Kentucky and Georgia. Charlie worked for the State Employment Agency in Lexington for 36 years and farmed all of his life. He went to Hanly School in Jessamine County and graduated from Nicholasville High School in 1956. He then attended UK for 3 1/2 years and then joined the army reserves for 6 years, was a member of Brookside Baptist Church. Charlie loved being with his family, while in his spare time creating beautiful pieces of furniture from the wood on the farm that shows throughout his home and his children-s. Funeral Services will be 1:00PM, Friday at Brookside Baptist Church with Rev. Dewayne Brewer officiating and burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Bearers will be Charles Robb Glass, Ben Biddle, Jr., Ron Wallace, David Wallace, Joe Wallace and Ben Biddle, Sr.. Honorary bearers will be Jimmy Wiggs, Tom East, Jeff Carroll, Eddie Kegley, David Walters, J.T. Dunn, John Blackford, B.F. Adams, Howard Downing, Kenny Houp, Kevin Corman, Bill Fitzpatrick and Deacons of Brookside Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 4-8:00PM, Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home.
