Clara Joseph Stephens, 90, widow of Charlie C. Stephens, formerly of Danville Road, died Friday October 3, 2008 at Central Baptist Hospital. Born January 25, 1918, in Breathitt County, daughter of the late America Walters Joseph and Silas Joseph Sr. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Jane Bowles-Nicholasville, and Peggy (Paul) Brown-Corinth, two sons, Curt (Thea) Stephens, and Charles Stephens-all of Nicholasville, grandchildren, Stevie Clark, Sherie Thompson, Shelby Maynard, Leslie Soderquiest, Tiffany Stephens, Clarissa Leathers, Whitney Stephens, Adam Morton, twelve great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, one brother, Howard (Peggy) Joseph-Lexington, numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Dale Hampton Clark, sisters, Nola Stephens, Stella Colliver, infant sister, Bertha, and brothers, Silas Joseph, Jr., Kennel Joseph, Marcus Joseph, and Orbin Joseph. Her most rewarding job was as a door greeter at Wal-Mart. Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Powell Whitlock, Rev. Billy Peel and Larry Goldey officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Bearers will be Stevie Clark, Adam Morton, Matthew Thompson, Ryan Stephens, Paul Joseph and Mike Norris. Honorary Bearers will be Glen Delk, Elmer Colliver, John and Gene Goldey, Larry and Garry Reynolds, Bobby, Randy, Ronnie, Tim and Larry Joseph and Danny Stephens.
