Nicholasville-Dallas Dean Cheek, 77, widower of Anna Mae Reynolds Cheek, of Beaumont Road, died August 28, 2009. He was a tobacco farmer in Jessamine County for over 50 years and a deacon and deacon emeritus at East Hickman Baptist Church where he was a member for over 50 years. Dallas enjoyed fishing, wrestling and spending time with his family. Survivors include a daughter, Anna Dean Cheek Gordon of Richmond, grandchildren, Mackenzie Dean Gordon, Jonathan Andrew Gordon and Rebecca Elizabeth Gordon, brothers, William Rhoades Cheek and Lonzie Cheek, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Flossie Cheek Peel and Mary Cheek, brothers Robert, Hughie, Stanley, Eulice and Garland Cheek. Services will be 11:00am Monday at East Hickman Baptist Church with Rev. Jim McGee officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-5pm Sunday at Betts & West Funeral Home and from 10-11am Monday at the church. Bearers will be Doug, Stephen and Phillip Cheek, Russell Reynolds, David Cheek and Rodney Burton.
