Danny Ray Morgan, 58, of Lexington passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2008, to be with his Heavenly Father. He served as a Sergeant with the Army 101st Airborne Division from 1968 to 1970 in Vietnam being awarded with National Defense Metal, Vietnam Service Metal, Vietnam Accommodation Metal and Army Accommodation Metal. He also served with HHB 2nd BN 138th Field Artillery in the Kentucky Army National Guard.
Survivors include two children: daughter Amy (Shawn) Jarvis of Lexington and Adam (Farrah) Morgan of Ft. Walton Beach Florida, four grandchildren: Morgan Wilhite, Derek Morgan, Marquette Wilhite, Paige Morgan, three devoted brothers: Earl Morgan, Merle (Shirley) Morgan and Larry (Joanne) Morgan, sister-in-law Patsy Morgan, numerous aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as long-time family friend Catherine Brantley.
He proceeded in death by mother Mary Louise Buffin Morgan, father Elmer Farra Morgan and brother Kenneth Lee Morgan.
Pallbearers include Billy Buffin, Erik Cobb, Bobby D. Morgan, Brad Morgan, Brian Morgan, and Gary Morgan.
Honorary pallbearers include Mike Morgan and Ricky Morgan.
Family visitation will be held at 11:30-12am, followed by public visitation from 12am-1:30pm on April 30 at Betts and West Funeral Home. Services will be immediately following visitation at 1:30pm. He will be laid to rest at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
