David W Jenkins

David W. Jenkins, 90, widower of Nellie Frances Yates Jenkins, died Monday, October 30, 2017 at Baptist Health Lexington. He was born in Lyle, Tennessee on September 8, 1927 to the late J.M. and Lucy White Jenkins. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church and a Veteran of the Korean War serving as a Captain in the Army. He moved with his family from Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1975. Dave was retired from Link Belt FMC and worked after retirement as a Realtor with Century 21 in Nicholasville. He was an avid outdoorsman, with a special love of the land with which he was blessed to spend his last 25 years working on, the only thing he loved more was his family. He is survived by a son, Todd A. (Cheryl) Jenkins and a daughter, Tracy A. Jenkins, two grandchildren, Wil Jenkins and Raegan Jenkins, great-grandson, Cason Jenkins and a brother, Clayton E. Jenkins. He was preceded in death by brothers, Grady A. Jenkins, Jack Jenkins and Gilmon Jenkins and sisters, Cora Marie Evans and Aileen Jenkins. Funeral services will be 11:00 Am, Friday, November 3, 2017 at Bethel Christian Church with Bro. Bill Bales officiating. Bearers will be Wil Jenkins, Ron Shearer, Dean Kemp, Clay Sparks, Dennis Smith and Kenny Burdine. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Betts & West Funeral Home.
