Dewey B. Kirby Jr.

Dewey B. Kirby Jr., 81, widower of his first wife , Mildred L. Kirby and his second wife, Mildred B. Kirby, died Monday, May 27, 2013. He was a salesman for Bluegrass Cigar Company, long time musician, Army Korean Veteran, a KY Colonel and loved to fish and be with his family. Dewey is survived by his eight children, Brenda (Denny) Frodge, Ronnie Dale (Karen Jo) Kirby, Michael Edwin Kirby, Phillip Darrell Kirby, Gary Dewayne (Gladys Wiggs) Kirby, Dewey Benjamin (Karen Sue) Kirby III, Terry Lynn (James) Sparks and Jerry Lee Kirby, five step children, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, a brother, E.C. (Frances) Kirby, many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren and other family members. Services will be 1:00 pm Friday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Lakes officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Bearers will be Ronnie, Michael, Phillip, Bennie, Jerry, Gary Kirby and Cody Harris. Honorary Bearers will be Brenda Frodge and Terry Sparks. Contributions suggested to Heritage Hospice.
