Dolores Singleton

August 17, 1916 — February 17, 2008

Nicholasville-Dolores Singleton, 91 widow of Orville Singleton, beloved grandmother and mother, returned home on Sunday, February 17, 2008. A devoted wife, grandmother and mother, Mrs. Singleton was a former Federal ASCS Office Manager, as well as a prolific and published Southern-Baptist hymnal composer and lyricist, who epitomized Christ-s compassionate spirit and irrepressible joy. She is survived by daughter Martha -Marti- Singleton Smith, granddaughter Kimberly Smith Singleton, Chrystal Smith, and Ruthie Smith, grandson-in-law Matthew Beck, great-granddaughter McKenna Means, great nieces Martha Adams, Jamie Adams Garrett, and Ann Harvey Adams, great-nephew Mike Adams, and great-nephew-in-law, Mitch Garrett. Pallbearers for Mrs. Singleton include Matthew Beck, Mitch Garrett, Danny 'Tuck' Bruner, Mike Adams, Bobby Mann and Bryan Loy. Honorary pallbearers include Eugene Webb, Mike Cusick, Bill Royalty, Bobby Milburn, Bill Fayne, Lloyd Hoover, Charles Winburn, Wayne Perkins, Charles Glass, Don Withers, Ray Stipes, Howard Smith and Roy Vahle, as well as all deacon members of Brookside Baptist Church. Services will be 2:00pm Saturday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4 to 8pm Friday. Burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
