Donald James Smith

Nicholasville-Donald James Smith, 84, husband of Bertha Smith, of Union Mill Road, died December 22, 2011 at his home. He was a retired employee of U.S. Steel and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served first in the Army Air Corps and was a member of East Hickman Baptist Church. Additional survivors include two daughters, Donelle Smith and Bertha Sue Vieu, grandsons, Robert (Tammy) Vieu Jr. and Donald Vieu, great grandchildren, David, Kaitlyn and Dylan Vieu, and a brother, Richard Smith. Services will be 1:00pm Saturday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Visitation from 11am-1pm Saturday. Burial will be 9:00am Monday at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
