Donald Ray Welch

Donald Ray (Donny) Welch Sr., 79, husband of Juanita Reeves Welch, of Jessamine Station,Nicholasville, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025. He was born in Wilmore, Kentucky, on August 31, 1945, to the late Harvey Lester Welch and Gladys Yarnell Sanders. Donny worked for Pepsi for 29 years, and was a proud veteran of the USMC reserves. He spent 40 plus years coaching and mentoring the youth of Jessamine County across multiple youth sports organizations. He is survived by his wife, Juanita; sons, Donny Welch Jr. (Stephanie), and Bobby Welch (Cathy); sister, Gloria McConathy (Jerry); grandchildren, Conner Welch (Rachel), Kerrigan Welch, Braydin Welch, Bragdon Welch, Klaire Welch, and Khloe Welch; as well as a great-grandchild, Reeves Welch. He is preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 21, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Jay Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens, where Conner Welch, Bragdon Welch, and Donny's nephews will serve as bearers. Visitation will be held the evening prior, from 5 – 8 PM, Thursday, at the funeral home. Betts & West is honored to serve Donald and his family in their time of need.
