Donna Jean Barnett

Donna Jean Barnett, 68, widow of Terry Teater, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Saint Joseph Jessamine. She was born in Lexington on April 14, 1955, to Robert Stanley Shelton and Virginia “Cricket” Humphrey Shelton. Donna was retired from Sylvania and attended the True Gospel Tabernacle. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Misty Dawn Chapman (Dean Thornton), and Tara Lynn Wyman (Tommy); sisters, Pat Hammond (Mike), Charlotte Barron (Ray), and Pam Salley (Sal); grandchildren, Patrick Todd Chapman, Ashley Dawn Fuller (Charles), Shelby Lynn Chapman (Zach Winstead), Jacob Tyler Caudill (Becca), Garrett Wayne Caudill (Julia), and Noah Heath Williams; as well as special friend, Jackie Kidwell. In addition to her husband, Terry, she is preceded by siblings, Robin Carol Shelton, Carol Sue Caldwell, and Sherry Lynn Mitchell. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, August 23, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor James Humphrey officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, where bearers will be Jacob Caudill, Garrett Caudill, Noah Williams, Mike Hammond, Heath Shelton, and Justin Cheek. Honorary bearers will be Chad Hammond, Dean Thornton, Tommy Wyman, Charles Fuller, and Zach Winstead. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
