Dorothy Baker Cook, 94, widow of Clayborne Cook, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Baptist Health Lexington. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on May 1, 1929, to the late William Preston Baker and Mossie Minyard Baker. Dorothy was a homemaker and lived in Nicholasville, Kentucky, and Melbourne, Florida. Survivors include two sons, Floyd Edward (Linda) Cook and David Warren (Missy) Cook, five daughters, Barbara Ann (Skip) Clift, Betty Sue Cobb, Shirley Irene (Danny) Jimenez, Wilma Louise (Chris) Campbell, and Dorothy Lorayne (Teddy) Rawlins, brother Elbert (Mollie) Baker, and two sisters, Wilma Louise Parks, and Shirley (Rev. Billy) Coots, and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Darryl Wayne Cook, and seven siblings. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 11, 2024, at Betts & West Funeral Home, with Bro. Greg Becknell officiating. The burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Bearers will be Scott Clift, David Cobb, Matthew Byrd, Christopher Campbell, Clay Cook, John Paul Cook, Ryan Cook and Bradlee Rawlins. The visitation will be 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the funeral home. Betts & West Funeral Home is honored to serve Mrs. Cook and her family.
