Dorothy Lee Underwood Arterburn, 89, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014. She was born October 24, 1924 in Fayette County to the late Benjamin Franklin Underwood and Vena Connor Underwood. Dorothy was a self employed Nanny, member of Glen Arvin Christian Church, attended Bethel Christian Church, 10-4 radio club. She loved her family and was Mother to a lot of people. Family survivors are two children, Jackie Arterburn Brann and Debra Arterburn (Chris) Smith, four grandchildren, Kim Karpuleon Wise, Benjamin Franklin Karpuleon Jr., Billie Lee Brann Mullins and Brandon Christopher Smith, four great grandchildren, Travis Lee Wise, Lucas Tyler Karpuleon, William Payton Lee Mullins and Kerrigan Ann Marie Mullins, one great great granddaughter, McKinlee Brianne Wise, daughter-n-law Judie Davis Karpuleon and other family members. She was also preceded in death by a son, Benjamin Franklin Karpuleon Sr.. Service will be 11:30 Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Bales officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Bearers will be Brandon Smith, Chris Smith, Ike Van Meter Jr., Doug Hammond, Steve Camps and Benny Karpuleon Jr.. Honorary Bearers will be Clarence Lykins, Payton Mullins, Lucas Karpuleon, Josh Morris, Tina and Kenny Gayheart, Michael Hardison, the Van Meter and Talbert family and the staff of Royal Manor Nursing Home.
