Edna L. Gillespie Beavers Northern, 93, widow of Farren Beavers and Roland Northern, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012. She was the daughter of the late James C. and Pearl Cyphers Gillespie. Edna was a member of the Wilmore Free Methodist Church and the Eastern Star in Berwind, WV and operated the Forestville Baptist Church Mission in Forestville, MD. Working at two different orphanages fulfilled her desire to help children. Fishing and crocheting were favorite hobbies. Survivors include a son, Leslie 'Les' ( Brenda) Beavers-Frankfort, five grandchildren, Lisa (Gerry) Gurevich-NC, Kevin (Kerstin) Beavers-Germany, Bruce Beavers-Louisville, Tim Kelly-Covington, Frank (Janet) Kelly-OH, five great grandchildren, Sofia, Kathryn, Sam, Austin and Chase, a brother Jack (Gladys) Gillespie-MD, a special cousin, Rod (Betty) Gillespie and caregiver, Mary Bennett-Wilmore and other family members. She was also preceded in death by a son, Lester Beavers, a sister, Beulah Gillespie Hall and two brothers, Willard and James Gillespie. Services will be 1:00pm Friday at Wilmore Free Methodist Church with Rev. Dwight Winter officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00am-1:00pm Friday at the church. Burial will be 2:30pm, Monday in Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Contributions suggested to Wilmore Free Methodist Church Children-s Ministries, 1200 Lexington Road, Wilmore, KY 40390.
