Edward Lavery Davis, 89, husband of Edna Mae Burton Davis, died Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Royal Manor Nursing Home. He was a farmer, a member of the Jessamine Christian Church and an Army Veteran serving in World War II. He was born in Jessamine County on August 14, 1918. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Johnny Lee Davis and his wife Sharon of Wilmore; a daughter, Sandra Royalty of Versailles; a granddaughter, Shannon Walton and her husband Michael of Versailles, his great-grandchildren, Corey, Cayden and Sydney Walton of Versailles, and a brother, William T. Davis and his wife Betty of Nicholasville, extended family, Lauren Plute, Ashley, Carrie, and Whitney Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Nannie Davis Davis, a sister, Martha Davis Carney, and brothers, Wallace Davis and Jack Davis Jr.. Services will be 2:00 PM, Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Family and friends will serve as bearers. Contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
