Nicholasville-Edwin Thompson Christian, 97, widower of Katherine Dailey Christian, of Lake Street, died October 26, 2007 at his home. He was born in Madison County in 1910, son of the late Robert and Lena Thompson Christian. He was a descendent of William Christian, a Virginia Revolutionary war soldier and 1796 settler at Athens, KY. As a young man at South Elkhorn, Mr. Christian became a dealer in horses, mules and soon to be widely known as a Central Kentucky land owner and producer of fat cattle and fine burley. He also owned the Ed Christian Insulating Co. He was associated for twenty six years with the Lexington Stock Stales, buying and selling each year. Survivors include a brother, Bob Christian-Lex., nephews, L.T., William and Cecil Mulligan-Madison Co., Bill Gardner-Lex., and Robert L. Christian-Crestwood, nieces, Pauline Moore and Betty Mulligan-Richmond, Bonnie Gardner Walker-Sulpher Well., and Debra Christian Payne-Louisville, two dear caregivers, Ethel Turner, caregiver of thirteen years and more recently Georgia Locker. Services will be 1:00pm Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Connie Bruce Carpenter. Visitation will be 3-8pm today. Burial in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
