Elizabeth Ann Walker Moores, 94, widow of James Alexander Moores, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at her home on Rainbow Drive in Nicholasville, Kentucky. She was born on May 6, 1930, in Jessamine County, Kentucky to the late George Walker and Hattie Cooley Walker. She is survived by her sons, David Moores (Linda), and Kevin Moores (Kelly); daughter, Deborah Brooks (Gene); grandchildren, Melissa Hawley (Joel), Michael Brooks (Shannon McKee), Jonah Brooks, Justin Moores, and Lucas Moores; as well as great-grandchildren, Dylan Brooks, Bayleigh Brooks, Tanner Hawley, and Madison Hawley. She was preceded in death by brothers, Roy, Billy, Bobby, and Ralph Walker; and sisters, Mildred Carter, Mary Bowman, Henrietta Smith, and Betty Carpenter. Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. David Grose and Pastor Lee Hagewood officiating. The burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, James. Pallbearers will be Michael Brooks, Jonah Brooks, Justin Moores, Lucas Moores, Mike Carter, Tanner Hawley, Danny Carpenter, Zack Barnett, and Joel Hawley. Serving as honorary bearers will be Jimmy Bowman, Chris Walker, and Mark Walker. The visitation will be held on Monday evening, August 12, 2024, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
