Elmer J. Ratliff

Elmer J. Ratliff, 80, husband of Anne Reece (Reecie) Ratliff, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at St. Joseph Jessamine in Nicholasville, Kentucky. He was born in Morgan County, Kentucky, on January 6, 1945, to the late Corsie Boyd Ratliff and Nannie Watkins Ratliff. Elmer retired from Avis Rent a Car, where he worked as an Automobile Technician. Elmer loved his family and friends and was always ready to help in any way he could. He was a man of many talents, having experience in building, electrical, and plumbing, as well as his mechanical abilities. He could look at just about any problem and find a solution. He measured his success in life by his ability to help others. In addition to his family and friends, Elmer loved his truck, University of Kentucky Wildcat basketball, and pineapple upside-down cake. Survivors include two sons, Michael D. Ratliff and his wife Sheila, and Jeffery T. Ratliff and his wife Brenda, seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include a brother, Kash Ratliff, and sisters Mae Ayers, her husband Ray, Judy Keith, Marlene Cozine, Ethel Blevins, and Sheila Johns. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, April 21, 2025, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Reed officiating. The burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Skylar Harrison, Eric Keith, Bryan Keith, Joe Ratliff, Logan Cozine, and Anthony Hubbard. The visitation will be on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to go to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
