Ernest Davis

Ernest Davis, 83, husband of Isabelle Duke Davis for 57 years, died December 1, 2007 at his home after a long illness. He was born September 30, 1924 in Henry County Tennessee. Ernest served in the United States Navy and retired from IBM after 37 years of service. Additional survivors are a daughter, Susan (Glenn) Balden-Lancaster, a loving grandson, Dr. Chad (Courtney) Lyle-Denver, Colorado and other family members. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Lyle, a sister, Frances Davis, two brothers, Henry and James Davis. Services will be 1:30 PM Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Schaeffer officiating. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 until 7 PM at the funeral home. Bearers will be Tommy, Jim, John, James, Rob and Norman Davis. Honorary bearers will be Charles Spurlock and Ed Fletcher.
