Nicholasville-Everett Cartwright Jr., 74, widower of Thelma Kaufman Cartwright of Bristol Ave., died November 8, 2007 at the home of his daughter after a long illness. Born in Jessamine County on May 20, 1933 he was the son of the late Everett and Myrtle Masters Cartwright Sr. He was retired from Link Belt Corp. and a 30 year volunteer firefighter with the City of Nicholasville. Survivors include three children, David Everett (Loucindy) Cartwright-Jessamine County, Debra J. Patterson and her partner Arnold Cramer-Nicholasville and Mary M.(Donald) Arvin-Nicholasville, two sisters, Barbara (Robert) French and Wanda (Chuck) Bolton, five grandchildren, Joe and Kristin Cartwright, Marie Arvin, Christian Miller and Jeff Patterson, three great-grandchildren, one special nephew, Edward Peel and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mattie Wheeler and Dorothy Davis and two grandsons, David Cartwright Jr., and Steven Cartwright. Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Snyder and Rev. Bob Schaeffer officiating. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Bearers will be Joe Cartwright, Jeff Patterson, Colin Meadows, Rick Shropshire, Arnold Cramer and George Adams. Honorary Bearers will be Jim Murphy, Edward Peel, Walter and Charles Brumfield, Willie Rhineheimer and Dr. Arthur Henderson. The family would like to express their thanks to the Hospice of the Bluegrass and Dr. Arthur Henderson and requests contributions to the Hospice of the Bluegrass in memory of Everett and Thelma Cartwright.
