Everette Mackey

March 26, 1919 — May 25, 2013

Everette Mackey, 94, husband of Alberta Watkins Mackey, died peacefully May 25, 2013. He was a member of the Nicholasville United Methodist Church, was a passionate fox hunter having been published in 'The Chase', a fox hunting resource guide. Mr. Mackey was an extension specialist for the Department of Agriculture at the University of Kentucky and was a farmer. Survivors include two children, Lee Ann Moureaux (George Haley) and Bob (Ruth) Mackey, grandchildren John Everette Mackey, Robert Mackey Jr., Colleen Moureaux, Courtney and Blake Mackey and Jane Taylor Mackey-Holloran, four step grandchildren, Lawrence Lowe, Kara Joy Chapman, Jackson and Savannah Chapman, five great grandchildren, three brothers, Ray, Herbert and Horace Mackey, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Services will be 10:00am Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Snyder officiating. Burial will be in the Mackey Cemetery in Highway KY. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Wednesday.
