Floretta Madden Cook

Floretta Madden Cook, born on January 8, 1949 passed away May 22, 2018. She has been called home to be with our Lord and will be watching over all of us.



She always thought of others first due to her giving heart. She touched so many lives that were made better by knowing her.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a generous friend who was kind and caring. She will be missed by everyone. Floretta leaves behind a large loving family. She is survived by her husband Robert J Cook Jr., five children, Tina, Bobby Jo (Jennifer), Brian (Denise), Bradley, Jeni (Vander), nine grandchildren; Joey, Jessica, Katelyn, David, Gabriel, William, Victoria, Alexandria, Jacob and is survived by three beloved great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind countless family from her hometown of Lexington, Kentucky, which includes her brother Robert Burge (Effie). She has now been reunited in heaven with family whom she missed terribly and now she will spend eternity with them.


We would love to have everyone celebrate her life with us. The viewing and service will be held at BETTS AND WEST FUNERAL HOME located at 404 N Main St, Nicholasville, Kentucky 40356 The viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. Tuesday, June 12th 2018. With her service to follow at 1 p.m. and will be officiated by her cousin Pastor Tommy Richardson.


Floretta was a remarkable woman who might be gone, but will never be forgotten because through it all she made sure to let those around her know she loved them
