Floyd Kirtley Hayes

July 17, 1946 — August 3, 2012

Floyd Kirtley Hayes, 66, husband of Susan Ragland Hayes, died August 3, 2012. He served in the U.S.Army, U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marines, serving during the Viet Nam Conflict, where he received a Purple Heart, medal of Valor and was a former member of the Louisville Police Dept. He was the son of the late Floyd E. Hayes and Virginia Upthergrove Hayes. Additional survivors include two sons, Dallas and Jason Hayes, two daughters, Stephanie O-Leary and Deanna Crome, nine grandchildren, Jalen Klinger, Anthony, Haleigh and Gavin Hayes, Austin and Isabelle McGrath, Addisyn and Peyton O-Leary and Emma Crone, five sisters, Mary Katherine Shanks-Louisville and Shirley (Ed) Dobson-IL, Norma Jean (Chuck) Anderson, Joyce Melvin and Teresa Moore, three nephews, Andy Shanks, David Dobson and Michael Dobson, three cousins, Becky Whitaker, Raymond and Bill Cumby He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Ann Hayes. Services will be 11:30am Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Burial in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11:30am Monday. Online guestbook at www.BettsandWestfuneralhome.com
