Frances Johns Collins, 93, widow of Robert Q. Collins, passed away peacefully Saturday September 9, 2017. She was born February 11, 1924 in Jessamine County to the late Calaway M. and Rena Cowan Johns. Frances was a charter member of Brookside Baptist Church, a member of the Baptist Women’s Missionary Society, Sunday School Teacher for over seventy years, served in the volunteer auxiliary at Central Baptist Hospital, and was a graduate of Fugazzi Business College. Survivors include two sons, Barry Q. (Susan) Collins, Richard A. Collins, and a daughter Robin (Barry L.) Jordan, six grandchildren, Stacy (Greg) Austin, Brett (Alissa) Collins, Robert Aaron (Ashley) Jordan, Julie (B J) Hall, Olivia C. Collins, and Richard Clay (Katie) Collins, six great grandchildren Callie Collins, Jordan Hall, Bricen Camps, Charles Lane Jordan and Elliott Quinn Collins, and a special daughter in law, Donna M. Collins. Services will be 11am Tuesday at Brookside Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Wheeler and Rev. Brian Burkhead. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8pm Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Bearers will be Richard Clay Collins, Brett Martin Collins, Robert Aaron Jordan, Johnny Burge, Jim Cook and Roy Vahle. Honorary bearers will be Creed Johns, Deacons of Brookside Baptist Church, Brookside Baptist Missionary Prayer Group, Ladies Adult Sunday School Class, Dr. Lee Hicks, Betty Smith, and Elexene Cox.
