Franklin Johnson Quinn

August 11, 1920 — March 6, 2008

Nicholasville-Franklin Johnson Quinn, 87, husband of 60 years to Norma Jean Fehr Quinn, of Weil Lane, passed away March 6, 2008 after a long illness. Mr. Quinn was born August 11, 1920, son of the late John Robert and Susie Johnson Quinn. Mr. Quinn was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII, serving in France, he was an employee of Donaldson Baking Company in Louisville in 1948, moving to Nicholasville in 1957 to manage Donaldson Bakery there. He later retired from National Life and Accident Insurance Company. After his retirement Mr. Quinn drove a school bus for St. Luke Catholic Church for 10 years. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, ever present smile and the strength in his handshake. The courage he displayed in the face of unbelievable medical problems will continue to be an inspiration to his family and those who knew him during the last difficult years. Additional survivors include six children and their spouses, Donald (Sandra) Quinn, Ronald (Sherry) Quinn, Richard Quinn, John Robert (Mary Ann) Quinn, Doris (Johnny) Collier and Martha (Mark) Sims, 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be Noon Monday at St. Luke Catholic Church with Father George McGinnis and Father Tony Jones. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-9pm Sunday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Prayer services will be held at 5:30pm Sunday. Grandsons will serve as bearers.
