Franklin Ray Whitaker

Franklin Ray Whitaker, 83, husband of Patricia Lynn Hughes Whitaker, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at his home in Nicholasville. He was born in Jessamine County on July 21, 1939, to the late Virgil Whitaker and Pearl Sharp Whitaker. Franklin was the owner of Whitaker A1 Heating. He is survived by his wife, Pat; sons, Steven Whitaker, Virgil Shane Whitaker (Lisa), and Jonathan Dale Whitaker; daughter, Honey Ray Hues; sister, Mary Lyle Cartwright; and two special grandchildren, Kaden Beck Whitaker, and Tanner Ray Whitaker. He is preceded in death by two daughters, Debbie Preston, and Frankie Reed; brothers, Jimmy Dale Whitaker, and Victor Whitaker; as well as sisters, Virgie Hager, and Doris Adams. Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, July 18, at Betts & West Funeral Home, with Pastors Jared Wayne Hughes and Timmy Nicholson officiating. Burial will follow at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens, where bearers will be Timmy Nicholson, Tony Oakes, Tanner Whitaker, Jared Hughes, Justin Land, and Ben King.
