Gary Lee Embry, 70, widower of Pauletta Embry, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Baptist Health Lexington. He was born in Winchester, Kentucky, on July 18, 1953, to the late Harold Embry and Pearl Wagers Newton. Gary was the former owner of Embry’s Battery Sales. He is survived by his daughter, Lori Marie Embry (Bo Nease); sisters, Connie Mellon (Buster), and Donna Embry Hammond (Bob Royse); grandchildren, Braden Embry, and Adrianna Nease (Eli); as well as great-granddaughter, Amelia Nease. He is preceded in death by his wife, Pauletta; son, Chad Embry; brothers, J. L. Embry, and Terry Weber; and sisters, Teresa Bowman, and Flora Hager. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 22, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rodney Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, where Mark Perkins, Jake Embry, Calvin Embry, J. D. Knight, Chase Noble, Michael Hager, and Brent Hager will serve as bearers. Visitation will be held the evening prior, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, at the funeral home. Betts & West is honored to serve Gary and the Embry family in their time of need.
