Geneva Ruth Carter, 93, widow of Thomas Lee Carter, whom she was married to for 62 years, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, passed away at the University of Kentucky Hospital on Friday, March 1, 2024. She was born in Junction City, Kentucky, on May 18, 1930, the daughter of the late Morris and Della Ruth Yates. Geneva was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, where she helped lead the Senior Saints and worked in retail sales at Service Merchandise in Lexington, Kentucky. She is survived by a daughter, Sonya (Jeff) McClanahan, and a son, Michael Carter, five grandchildren, Rob (Emilie) Carter, Jason (Tammy) Carter, Michelle Goodwin, Larry (Celena) Baker., and Melissa (Adam) Snider. Seven great-grandchildren: Jordan Carter, Savannah Carter, Shania Delano, C.J. Goodwin, Colton Goodwin, Kylee Goodwin, and Carter Hammond. She was preceded in death by a son, Lee Carter, and his wife, Melanie, a daughter, Jana Baker, a granddaughter Christy Carter and one great-grandchild, Hagan J. Sloan. Services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, March 8, 2024, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Morrow officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Bearers will be Larry Baker, Jr., Rob Carter, Adam Snider, Luke Snider, Seth Snider, and Austin Snider. The visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday.
