George "Tom" Denton

George 'Tom' Denton, 79, widower of Leola Denton, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at his residence. He was born on March 15, 1936 in Jessamine County to the late John Franklin Denton and Stella Hardin Wilkerson. George was a retired school bus mechanic for Jessamine County and was a member of the Providence Christian Church. He is survived by three children George (Kim) Denton, Cheryl (Chuck) Howell and Allen Dudley (Angela) Denton, eight grandchildren including two very special grandchildren MaKayla and Chad Denton, two great grandchildren and three siblings Mary (James) Shelton, Charles Avery 'Buster' Denton and Sue (June) Johns. George was also preceded in death by one son Thomas Henry Denton and four siblings Helen Marie Goforth, James William Denton, Allen Franklin Denton and JoAnn Vest. Funeral service will be conducted at 1PM Friday, December 4, 2015 at Betts & West Funeral Home with Reverend Bob G. Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home and from 12 noon until the time of service on Friday.
