Gilbert Harvey Roller

September 1, 1927 — July 3, 2014

GILBERT HARVEY ROLLER, 86, of Wilmore went to be with his Lord on July 3, 2014. Born September 1, 1927, in Petrolia IL he was one of four children of Rev. C. E. and Viola Roller. For 65 years, Gilbert was the beloved husband of Nadine (Jeri) Roller. Gilbert was a graduate of Greenville College (B.A.), and Michigan State University (M.A. & Ph.D). He invested his life in Christian higher education, serving from 1950-1975 at Spring Arbor College, MI and from 1975 until his retirement in 1993 at Asbury College. Gilbert's love of music and art led him numerous times to Europe and his love of God led him to missions trips to Bolivia, Congo, Malawi, and Mexico. Above all, Gilbert's devotion to God has been the hallmark of his life. Gilbert is survived by his wife, Jeri. Of their five children, two predeceased him (Jerilyn Dawn & Jana Maurine) and three survive: David (Yvonne) Roller, Leonard (Karen) Roller, and Jonathan (Towanna) Roller. Seven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren have benefited from his godly example. Funeral services will be held at the Wilmore Free Methodist Church at 3PM on July 7, 2014.
