Greta Sanders Harkins, 76, wife of Donald D. Harkins for fifty six years, died Monday, June 28, 2010. She was born April 24,1934 in Waynesburg, KY to the late Irvin William and Thelma Dumas Sanders. Greta was the former Clerk of the City of Danville and former Secretary to the First Presbyterian Church of Danville. Additional survivors are two sons Donald D. (Linda) Harkins Jr. of KS and William Scott (Susan) Harkins of Nicholasville, five grandchildren, Jason A. (Evelyn) Harkins of ME, Nathan A. (Tiffany) Harkins and Ben Harkins of KA, William Scott and Hillary Clay Harkins of Nicholasville, four nephews, David (Carrie) Rankin of TX, Chris (Jennifer) Rankin of Lexington, Michael F. (Linda) Vest and Montgomery Fox Harkins of France. Services will be 10:00 am Saturday at Nicholasville Presbyterian Church with Rev. Pamela Rucker officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at Betts & West Funeral Home. Bearers will be Jason, Nathan, Ben, Will and Hillary Harkins, Dave and Chris Rankin and Bryan Bell. Honorary Bearers will be Peter LaFalce, Roy Grey Irvin Fox, John Rankin, Max Hoover, Dewitt Hisle, Cecil Dunn and Bill Muir. Honorary Bearers will be Randy Hayes Curt McCall, Buddy Dixon, Bob Lewis, Bob Ayotte, Hugh Coomer, Jim Host and Darryl Callahan.
